"I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go; I will guide thee with mine eye." Psalms 32:8
Learning to listen to God is a big part of our journey. How many different diets have we done? How many exercise programs have we started and then stopped? If you are like me, too many to count of both.
Over the last few days, I have purposely been making the effort to listen to that inner voice, the Holy Spirit, to guide me. He's that silent voice in my mind that says, "Do you really need to eat that?" or asks, "Are you really hungry?" He also says stuff like: "You could use this extra ten minutes to walk." Or, "Why don't you do a couple of stretches during this commercial?"
I believe that is the Lord trying to instruct and teach you how to live healthier. With God's guidance, you can't go wrong. God always has your best interest at heart and He wants to be apart of everything you do, say, and eat. Isn't that wonderful!?
I truly believe if I heed the words of Psalms 32:8 and lean on the Lord to direct me in this adventure of weight loss, I can't go wrong. Common sense tells me that God will not advise me to over eat or hurt myself by doing too much exercise.
I love that this scripture says, "I will guide thee with mine eye." That's a gentle reminder to me that God knows what is before me and if I'll listen to him, I will reach my weight loss goals.
Have you heard/thought the same questions? Will you trust the Lord to instruct and teach you how to eat and live a healthy life?
