"for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart." 1 Samuel 16:7b
This morning I looked at my knees. Yes, my knees. My right knee popped a few days ago and has hurt off and on every since. As I looked at the knee, I realized how big my knees are. My first thought was I am so big how can God love me? I don't even love myself.
Then I read 1 Samuel 16:7b
Thankfully God loves unconditionally. He looks at the heart and not my knees, face, thighs... you get the idea. We all hate parts of our bodies more than other parts. Some of us look in the mirror and hate everything we see.
Now I'm not saying God looks at me and says, "it doesn't matter," because that's not what He's saying, at least not to me. What I feel he's telling me is that he looks at the heart, not the physical body. I know God wants me to be healthy. He wants my heart to be strong. God wants me to be able to do the work He has given me to do.
Use this scripture to remind you that God looks at your heart and loves you. He wants you to be healthy and happy for years to come.
I will press on with getting healthy. I want God to look on my heart and know that I am doing all I can to continue the work He has for me to do.
Will you join me?
