Choose What You Shall Eat

4 But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. 5 For every man shall bear his own burden. Galatians 6:4-5

The holidays are upon us. We just celebrated Thanksgiving here in America. And with the holidays, comes feasts. Yes, I said feasts.

One of the things I am learning about Thanksgiving and Christmas meals is that I am the one who has to test my own will power. If I make wise choices, I can be proud of myself and privately celebrate my victory over food. If I make bad choices, then I have to live with that, also.  More on the latter after Christmas.

Now, what do I mean by wise and bad choices? Everyone is different. Each of us has our own meal plans (don't call them diets, that sabotages the whole plan). So we can't compare ourselves to one another. So for me a wise choice is one hot roll instead of two or four. For you it might be limiting your pie or cake intake.

So my point is: This holiday season choose wisely what you shall eat and drink. Before going to the table, go to God and ask for guidance in your choices. You will succeed and will be able to rejoice! The way I see it, it's a win, win situation when you do it God's way.
